The core team met as undergraduates at Oxford University's Lady Margaret Hall and set up Catalyst Courses in 2019 with a view to providing exceptional, residential learning experiences, based at the college, for students all around the world. Catalyst Courses has since branched out into online learning, delivering engaging, relevant workshops and courses to help young people develop the critical and creative thinking skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.

ALEX ELLIOTT
Director
Alex had a 20-year career in journalism, communications and fundraising before launching Oxford Catalyst.
Between 2014 and 2018 she was co-director of a London youth charity supporting 8- to
18-year-olds. Alex read Modern Languages as an undergraduate at Oxford.
DR TOM ZIESSEN
Curriculum Director
Tom read Biochemistry as an undergraduate at Lady Margaret Hall. He went on to gain a PhD from University College London, followed by a career bringing science to the public and helping them imagine how the future could look and be shaped.
He has travelled widely and taught English as a second language in the UK, Guatemala and Mexico.
TIM ELLIOTT
Consultant
Tim is a senior banking and finance partner at an international law firm. He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) as an undergraduate at Oxford and has taught in a variety of settings.
